Good morning, everyone! We are the ______ Team, and we are excited to share our science project with you today. Our team members are ___________, ___________, ____________, __________________(names) and me (your name). Today, we will be talking about the life cycle of a butterfly. It has four important stages, and each one is very interesting! Let’s begin by learning about the first stage., The first stage in the life cycle of a butterfly is the egg. Butterflies lay their eggs on the leaves of plants. The eggs are really tiny, and they can be different colors, like white, yellow, or even green. After a few days or weeks, the egg hatches, and the next stage begins., The second stage is the caterpillar. When the egg hatches, a tiny caterpillar comes out. It is very hungry and starts eating leaves. As the caterpillar grows, it molts, which means it gets rid of its skin to get bigger. The caterpillar continues to eat a lot until it is ready for the next stage, The third stage is called pupa. After the caterpillar is big enough, it stops eating and forms a shell around itself called a pupa. Inside the pupa, the caterpillar is changing into a butterfly. This stage can last for a few weeks, and inside the pupa, the caterpillar is slowly turning into a butterfly!, The last stage is the adult butterfly. After some time in the pupa, the butterfly is ready to come out. It breaks open the pupa and dries its wings. Once the wings are dry, the butterfly can fly and starts looking for flowers to collect nectar. The butterfly will also lay eggs, and the life cycle begins again!, Thank you for listening to our presentation! The life cycle of a butterfly is amazing because we get to see how a tiny egg turns into a beautiful butterfly. Each stage is important, and we hope you learned something new today!, Guiding Questions: , Where does an adult butterfly lay eggs?, How is a caterpillar different from a butterfly?, Why does an adult butterfly need to lay eggs?, What are the names of the stages?, When can a butterfly fly?.
