Physical security measures, locks make it more difficult to remove equipment, electronic locks record who enters/leaves a room, keys can be lost / copied / stolen / used by someone else, swipe cards can be lost / copied / given to someone to use, locks can be expensive to install, pcs can be fastened to a desk using cable locks, computers / equipment can be located in locked rooms, PINS to locked rooms can be shared / shoulder surfed, Passwords, need to be strong and not easily guessed, should be made up of a combination of capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols/characters, simple and cost effective method of preventing unauthorised access, strong passwords cab be difficult to remember, need to be changed often to retain security, do not protect from social engineering attacks e.g. can be tricked into revealing this, specialist software can be used to crack these, Biometrics, voice recognition, facial recognition, iris recognition, fingerprint, no need to remember passwords/pins, no need to update, unique to individual, specialist software / equipment so expensive
