This keeps this part of the house cooler as convection means it would normally get very warm., Cavity wall insulation, The material contains pockets of trapped air which reduces conduction out of the building., Silver foil, It reflects infrared radiation back into the building., Draught excluder, It reduces warm air that leaves the house through gaps. This reduces convection.
