Headstone was not accused of the attack on Eugene. Why not?, Because noone had told the police that he had done it.., Headstone had lost his last friend. Who was it and why did he lose him?, It was Charlie Hexham and he knew that Headstone had attacked Wrayburn. And he thought that he would be discgraced by knowing someone with such a terrible temper., Why did Riderhood come to visit Headstone at his school?, To let Headstone know that he knew he had gone on the river dressed as a boatman. To threaten Headstone., Riderhood wanted more than money from Headstone. Why?, Because he had tried to make everything believe that Riderhood had attacked Wrayburn., The two drowned men were brought up out of the river. What was the dead schoolmaster still doing to Riderhood?, Holding him in an iron grip., Why did Mortimer Lightwood want to talk to Julius Handford and John Rokesmith?, Because he was suspected of the murder of John Harmon. He knew that John Rokesmith was the same person as Julius Handford., Why had the police inspector come to John Rokesmith's house?, Perhaps Lightwood had sent him because he was also looking for Julius Handford, who was now known to be John Rokesmith., Mr. Boffin explained: "the three of us made a plan". Who were the "three" and what was the plan?, John Harmon, Mr. Boffin and Mrs. Boffin. Mr. Boffin would treat John badly to prove to him that Bella was really a kind person., John Harmon told Bella: "But I still didn't want to tell you the truth". Why not?, Because she knew him as a poor man and they were happy as they were., What did Society say about Eugene Wrayburn and his wife?, Wrayburn had married Lizzie even though she was a boatman's daughter. So society said that Wrayburn was more of a gentleman than he had been before because he had married her. And society also said that Lizzie was therefore truly a lady., Mrs. Boffin said: "Old John HArmon's money has turned bright again at last." Why did she say these words?, Because although the money was "dusty" or dirty, because it had come from old John Harmon's trade, it had been made dirtier when everyone thought his son had been murdered. Now the money was bright because John Harmon was alive and good had won over evil.
