What many people call honesty is often just the absence of an extreme level, of deception., Exaggerating, a story is harmless as long as everyone knows you're trying to entertain them., People who compulsively lie, to excess should be treated rather than blamed., Malicious, lying causes far more damage than telling lies for personal gain., Everyone has told a tall, tale at some point to make a conversation more interesting., It is acceptable to bend, the truth if telling the whole truth would unnecessarily hurt someone's feelings., Politicians often play fast and, loose with the facts, but many voters expect them to., Pathological, lying is a mental health issue rather than a character flaw., Most people have lied to cover up, mistakes at least once in their lives., Lying to cover up, mistakes or bad behaviour usually creates even bigger problems., Anyone who lies to scam people, out of money deserves a severe punishment., People often lie to put other, people down because they feel insecure themselves., A lie done as, revenge is more understandable than a lie told for financial gain., Some lies are simply to cover the liar's, own insecurities rather than to hurt other people., Teenagers sometimes lie in an attempt to fit, in with the social group, and this is a normal part of growing up., White lies told for the benefit, of other people are sometimes more compassionate than complete honesty., Many social conventions depend on small lies to uphold, social roles and avoid unnecessary conflict., People often edit what they post online to shape, a positive image, and there is nothing wrong with that., In most cultures, lying is frowned, upon, even though almost everyone does it., Even small lies can be, damaging if they destroy trust between people., Some everyday lies serve little, or no purpose and have simply become bad habits.
