It is anticipated that candidate responses to questions in Phase 1, will be short and factual., In part 1, Phase 2, interlocutors should, select a different question to ask each candidate., Candidates at B1 level may, need some thinking time before responding., Back up questions in part 1, should not be used as supplementary prompts with reticent candidates., If a candidate fails to answer or misinterprets a question,, it should be repeated once only, at a slightly slower speed., In part 2, candidates should be discouraged from picking up the booklet and should, allow each other to see the visuals., In part 3, if one of the candidates introduce their own ideas to the discussion,, the interlocutor should not intervene unless it disadvantages the other candidate., In part 4, the interlocutor should redress any serious imbalance in candidate output, that may have occurred in the rest of the test.
