Catherine sits on the porch swing with David while Mom calls her clients., Catherine thinks about September, when school will start again, and wonders if Kristi will still be her friend and if her friendship with Jason will continue., Mom tells Catherine that Kristi is on the phone., Kristi asks Catherine to help her make two posters for the school dance., Kristi comes to Catherine’s house, and they start making the posters., Catherine makes the poster for the admission desk and draws colorful fireworks around it. Catherine is very artistic and makes the word DANCE look as if it is actually dancing., Catherine explains her rule: “No dancing unless I’m alone in my room or it’s pitch-black dark.”, Kristi asks David to dance, and he starts dancing happily around Catherine’s room. David accidentally steps on the posters and breaks Catherine’s ruler., Catherine becomes upset because she feels Kristi is making David look stupid, even though Kristi thinks David is enjoying himself., They finish the posters barely talking.
