Data risk, is the exposure or misuse of personal information. This can happen when a teacher uses an AI tool that collects learner data without the teacher realising it, or when learners enter sensitive details into a tool that stores them in ways that have not been checked., Wellbeing risk, is harm to a learner's emotional or psychological wellbeing. This can include AI responses that are inappropriate, distressing, or that a learner has no way of challenging without a trusted adult nearby., Agency risk, is the erosion of a learner's ability to think, question, and decide for themselves. International education frameworks identify this as a distinct safeguarding concern, not only a pedagogical inconvenience. When learners become dependent on AI for tasks they should be developing the capacity to do independently, their long-term educational development and confidence may be at risk.
