expatriate (expat), someone who does not live in their own country, refugee, a person who has escaped from their own country for political, religious, or economic reasons or because of a war, migrant, a person who travels to a different country or place, often in order to find work, immigrant, a person who has come to a different country to live there permanently, citizen, someone who lives in a particular town, country, or state, resident, a person with the legal right to live in a particular country that they were not born in, visa, an official mark, usually in a passport, that allows you to enter or leave a particular country, work permit, an official document that you need if you want to work in a foreign country, currency, the money that is used in a particular country, phrase book, a book with helpful groups of sentences and words in a particular foreign language, for people to use when they travel to other countries.
