#1 - Ponyboy gets jumped by a group of Socs and then saved by his friends, #2 - Ponyboy meets Cherry and her friend at the drive-in, #3 - Darry slaps Ponyboy because he fell asleep watching the sunset, #4 - Ponyboy runs away, meets Johnny, and they go to the park, #5 - The Socs arrive at the park drunk and start to drown Ponyboy, #6 - Johnny attempts to save Ponyboy and stabs a Soc in the process, #7 - Johnny faints and the Socs run away, #8 - Ponyboy and Johnny run to Dally for help. He gives them money, a gun, and teels them where they can find a place to hide out until things cool down, #9 - Pony and Johnny jump a train to get out of town, and then hike up into the mountains to stay at an old abandoned church, #10 - Johnny gets food and supplies, #11 - Johnny helps Ponyboy cut and bleach his hair, and Ponyboy helps Johnny cut his hair , #12 - Dally arrives with a letter from Sodapop, #13 - Sodapops' letter encourages Ponyboy and Johnny to turn themselves in because the stabbing was self-defense and they are minors, #14 - Dally takes Ponyboy and Johnny to get some food, #15 - Dally shares with Ponyboy and Johnny thast the Soc girl, Cherry, would testify in court that the group of Socs were drunk and had been harassing the boys that night, #16 - Johnny decides he wants to turn himself in, but Dally tells him no, because Dally knows jail will change Johnny for the worse, #17 - Dally starts to take Ponyboy and Johnny back to the abandoned church, #18 - Dally, Ponyboy, and Johnny witness a school on fire and children that need help, #19 - Ponyboy and Johnny, and a reluctant dally save the children from the burning school, #20 - Johnny pushes Ponyboy out of the burning school, and then Dally knocks him out so he can put out the fire on Ponyboy's jacket; then Dally runs back into the school to save Johnny, #21 - The burning school collapses on Johnny and Dally, #22 - Ponyboy wakes up in an ambulance to learn that Johnny and Dally have been burned and that they are heading to the hospital, #23 - Ponyboy is allowed to leave the hospital. While at a burger shop, Ponyboy speaks with the Soc, Randy. Randy can't believe a Greaser would do such a good thing, and Ponyboy corrects him saying it was just a person who did the good thing, #24 - Ponyboy and Two-bit visit Johnny in the hospital. Johnny says that he's not ready to die, he still has a lot of things he wants to do, #25 - Ponyboy and Two-bit visit Dally in the hospital; who is fine and asks for Two-bits' knife, #26 - The Greasers and the Socs have a huge fight, a rumble, and the Greasers win, #27 - Dally and Ponyboy visit Johnny at the hospital, were Johnny tells Ponyboy, "Stay gold...Ponyboy, stay gold," and then dies; Dally runs out of the hospital full of emotion and not thinking about his behavior, #28 - Dally calls his friends to come to the lot as he has just robbed a grocery store; the cops arrive, Dally points a gun at them, and the cops kill Dally, #29 - Back at school, Cherry decides to ignore Ponyboy and stay within the comfort of her Soc friends, even though her testimony in court helped to keep Ponyboy free, #30 - While at dinner, Darry gets mad at Sodapop for Ponyboy's grades and Sodapop runs off; when the two brothers catch up with Sodapop, he shares that he can't continue to stay in the middle of both of his brothers, and not long after Ponyboy decides to write his story,
