Tell me about yourself. - I’m currently an accountant with XYZ and I manage a number of our biggest clients. Previously I worked with xyz where I established a more efficient means of communicating with clients which was rolled out across the company. I am now looking for a new challenge because I feel I have grown all I can in my current company., What are your strengths? - I am very well organised and I bring out the best in my colleagues. We recently undertook a project with a very tight deadline. There was a lot of pressure within the team. I took the reins, worked out a plan of action and made sure each person was working to their skills. In the end, we delivered the project early and as a result the company was awarded additional business from that client., What do you know about our company? - From what I have read online, you are a family-run business which aims to make a big impact in the local community. That is one of the reasons I want to work with you and I feel I could bring a lot of value., Why do you want to work here? - I have followed your company on LinkedIn and social media for some time and the style of interactions you have with the public and the content you post really appeal to me; I feel that your values align with my own and that my skills match the role. I could bring a lot of benefits to the company and I would love to work here., What are your weaknesses? - I would like to improve my Powerpoint skills because my slides are more basic than I would like. I have been working through a LinkedIn Learning course for a few months and now I am producing much better presentations. I am going to continue with this training until I reach the advanced level at least. I want to run CPD workshops for my team eventually so everyone can benefit from this training., Where do you see yourself in 5 years? - I would love to be working at your company, potentially in a management position if I am lucky enough to be given that opportunity., Tell me about a challenge you have faced at work. - A year ago, a couple of people left the team and weren’t replaced, which meant that my workload increased dramatically as their work was absorbed by the remaining members of the team. The result was that I wasn’t able to focus as much as I needed to on my own priorities and the work that brought the most value to the company. In the end I found a way to automate a number of tasks and delegated others to junior staff, so I could manage the workload while maintaining excellent results., Why are you leaving your current job? - While I love the people I work with, I feel I need a new challenge in my career., How do you manage stress? - By meditating, staying in close contact with friends, and exercising. At work I make sure I identify the cause of the stress and work towards mitigating it. I find making lists and setting focus time on my calendar helps with prioritising tasks I need to complete., How would you describe yourself? - I care a lot about people, whether they are colleagues, patients or people I come into contact with briefly. As such I do everything I can to make that person feel better about themselves and have a good experience. I think this is why I always strive to improve my skills; the better I am, the more I can help others.,
