To what degree should students be allowed/encouraged to become self-directed learners?: I think a balance is needed to teach both self-direction, social norms/expectations and standard content., Become a life long learner is the end result of a self-directed student. If we can allow students times for students to direct their own learning at young ages it stays with them., I feel in an idea, funded world students should be allowed to be self directed learners as often as possible., What skills should be fostered in students to help them become life-long learners and how do you do that?: Being able to transfer new information to larger contexts or situations. This includes solving real-world problems and guidance in developing their own questions to answer., To have a Growth Mindset of, "I haven't learned it yet." By changing dialog in the classroom from a stagnate knowledge of, "I am smart." To a working knowledge, "I want to learn more about that.".", The student needs to have a high sense of self-efficacy. They need to believe they can, by experiencing and learning from success and failures in their education. , What have you learned about heutagogy?: Teachers provide lessons based on the needs of the student's current learning goal., Student knowledge isn't necessarily gained in a linear path., Students manage their own learning and the teacher develops the student's skills to make it possible..  ,
