1) Mining causes land pollution through the poisonous waste products that are exposed to the ground. 2) The excavation of mineral ores from the ground leaves big trenches in the Land and it becomes degraded. 3) The cutting of trees to clear the land for mining causes deforestation. 4) Much of the land is left bare after mineral ore excavation and this land is easily exposed to soil erosion 5) The land used for mining was once a forest. Clearing the land for mining leads to the Loss of habitats. 6) The stagnant pools of water which are created become a breeding ground for insects and organisms such as mosquitoes that spread diseases. 7) People prefer moving away from areas that are close to the mines for fear of pollution. Their homes are displaced. 8) Animals too, move from polluted places to places with conducive environments for their survival. 9) The release of toxic chemicals from the mines to the nearby water bodies is harmful to the plants and animals in the water. 10) The chemicals used in the mining process often escape into the atmosphere causing air pollution.
