1 - Teacher tells a story with several past simple examples in it – it could be a story learners already know, so there is not too much new vocabulary., 2 - Teacher uses picture prompts from the story he or she has told and asks the class to retell the story., 3 - Teacher highlights the rule for regular past tense endings and any irregular verbs required., 4 - Learners copy the rule and write three example sentences from the story., 5 - Teacher puts learners into small groups and gives each group about five verbs., 6 - Learners work together to make up a new story using the five verbs., 7 - When they are ready, the learners record their stories on a mobile phone or other recording device., 8 - Teacher plays some of the recordings for the class and gives praise/feedback.,
