Grafting is possibly needed, Examples are scalds, flash flames, THIRD DEGREE: Full Thickness. Involves epidermis, dermis, & underlying connective tissue, Leathery & dry, the color can be white, red, brown, or charred, Deeply burned areas lack sensation, Edema is present, and coagulated vessels may be visible, Grafting is needed. Eschar may slough scarring. , Examples are flames, electric currents, chemicals, and prolonged exposure to hot liquids. , FOURTH DEGREE: Full thickness, deep burn necrosis into tissue, muscle, or bone, Wound is charred, The patient may experience shock, myoglobinuria, hemolysis, Amputation is likely , Grafting provides no benefit, given the depth & severity, Examples are prolonged exposure or high-voltage electrical injuries. ,
