A baby aged 4-12 months  - Will sleep for around 12-16 hours over a 24 hour period. This will include naps throughout the day, that will decrease as they become older. , A toddler aged 18 months - They will usually have around 11-14 hours sleep in a 24 hour period. This will often still include a nap during the day which can vary in length. , A child aged 3-5 years - Will have around 10-13 hours sleep during a 24 hour period. This may still include 1 day time nap that they will soon grow out of. , A child aged 5-7 years - They will usually have around 10-11 hours sleep in a 24 hour period, this will usually be overnight. A child of this age may only have a nap if they are feeling unwell or if they have recently started school. , Newborn baby - They can sleep anywhere between 11 and 19 hours over a 24 hour period. These sleeps will usually be for hours at a time and there will be no differentiation between day time and night time.,
