Carry microscope with two hands to the bench, Remove cover and plug in the microscope, Place the specimen on the stage and secure it using the clips, Centre your specimen slide on the stage, Look at the microscope from the side and adjust the coarse focus knob to position the objective lens above the specimen., Rotate the objective lenses until the low magnification lens is in place, Turn on the power, Turn the coarse focusing knob to move the objective lens away from specimen until you obtain a clear image., To obtain higher magnification, rotate a higher magnification objective lens into place, Turn the fine focusing knob to make the image sharper, Draw a diagram, Turn off the power and let the lamp cool, Unplug the microscope, pack up and place on cover, Carry microscope with two hands back to the cupboard.
