Proscenium Stage: This is the 'traditional' shape of stage, Can easily have a backdrop, You can use wooden flats, You can use a cyclorama, You could use a naturalistic, symbolic or minimalistic set, You could have a rostra, which are stages you can put on stage to have another level, You can have a rotating platform, There is a wooden frame around the stage, Theatre in the Round: The staging is very important so that everyone sees everything on stage, There isn't a traditional backstage, Blocking carefully is essential to make sure everyone sees everything on stage, You can have 'voms' in the audience, these act as entrances and exits, usually a symbolic or minimalistic set is used, Thrust Stage: You can use an interactive screen, The actors are very close to the audience, The blocking is important, must make sure everyone can see what's happening and follow the plot, Traverse Stage: not much room for a backdrop, looks like a cat walk, the audience are close to the actors and each other on each side, you can make the stage look like train tracks like in 'The Railway Children', No traditional backstage ,
