“It’s not a bug, it’s a feature” - This is the most popular joke in the programming world. It originates from the stereotype of a developer who always tries to convince the user that any program bug is actually an intentional feature., “If you use light mode, you’re an impostor / a psychopath - Developers are notorious for preferring dark mode (or dark theme) over light mode (light theme). Most text editors and applications for tech geeks (such as Discord) use dark mode as their default because of that. A programmer that uses light mode is usually seen as somewhat of a black sheep., Programmers talk like machines, rather like actual human beings - Even though programmers generally speak like any other normal person, they might sprinkle in some programming jargon for the comedic effect., “How to center a div” jokes - A “div” is an html tag that defines a section of a webpage that can be styled with CSS. Centering a div (i.e. positioning it in the center of the web page) is a relatively easy thing to do, however, there is more than one way to do it. You might hear web developers sometimes make sarcastic jokes about not being able to center a div., I’ll refactor it later - Refactoring code is the process of making changes to an already functioning piece of code to make it more elegant and efficient. In practice, you often don’t have the time or energy to do that.,
