GET PAID! , Sharecropper - Farmer who worked land for owner, used farmers tools and were economically dependent on landowners, Poll taxes - A tax paid before a voter could vote , Literacy Test - Used to prevent African Americans from voting. Had to know how to read and write, Reconstruction Act - Some acts made to Protect African Rights in the South, Abraham Lincoln's plan - Had a plan to forgive (amnesty) the South if they swear allegiance to the US , Radical Reconstruction - Wanted harsh punishments for the South, wanted Southern states to ratify the 14th amendment-which they hated, Civil Rights Act of 1866 - This act granted full citizenship to African Americans and gave the fed gov't the power to intervene in state affairs and protect their rights.
