Close Up - Draw the viewer closer and involve them in the action; they are also used to observe reaction and emotions., Crab shot - A type of shot which involves the camera being placed in a confined space., Crane shot - The camera is positioned on a specially designed crane, which can be raised or lowered., Establishing shot - The shot (usually wide or long), often used at the start of a filme, a new section of a film or the start of a new scene to establish a realtionship between location and the characters or to show the whole view., Head-On shot - A shot in which the action comes directly towards the camera., High Angle - A view from above the subjects(s), often making the subject look vulnerable, isolated or powerless., Long Shot - A distance shot where the camera is a long from the subject being filmed., Low Angle - The camera approaches a subject from below eye level. Can emphasise the size of the object being filmed., Pan - Camera action involving gently moving the camera horizontal 180 degrees across the subject matter., Point-of-View shot - A shot taken from the position of the subjects, used to enhance a senses of realism and audience involvement in the action., Reaction shot - A shot devised for an interview between two people, usually showing an interviewer responding to the interviwee's answers by nodding., Split screen - An editing technique which involves the cinema screen being split into two or more parts., Tracking shot - A camera shot in which the camera moves along rails to follow the subject., Two shot - A shot of two people, usually a medium close up or medium shot. This shot shows the spacial relationship between the two people., Subjective shot - The camera is postioned as if looking at the world through the subject's eyes., Whip Pan - A very fast pan, Wide shot - A shot which can be used to set location or show a large crowd. This can also emphasise the isolation of a single figure., Zoom - Adjustment of the camera lens to allow the operator progressively to move in or pull away from the subject.,
